Over the past twenty years, SICCE has gained extensive experience in the manufacture of specialized pumps for protein skimmers and is now a world-leading manufacturer of skimmers. This year, SICCE surprises us with a very special, originally designed line of internal skimmers that meet the demands of today’s market.

The skimmers feature the cubic design of the recently introduced SHARK PRO internal filter series. They owe their high compactness compared to units of the same capacity to the “Instant Skimming” principle, which allows protein-laden air bubbles to be drawn into the skimmer cup immediately and via the shortest possible route. Proven SICCE pumps are used to generate the air bubbles; these are equipped with a self-cleaning multi-blade impeller that minimizes maintenance requirements.

The Shark SKIMMER line consists of two very specific models:

The SHARK SKIMMER NANO 150, designed for aquariums up to 150 liters, uses an instant skimming principle with a diffusion surface on the base plate—a particularly useful feature for breeding tanks containing live plankton or sensitive organisms. It removes only dissolved proteins and preserves a certain carbon source within the biotope, which is very beneficial for filter-feeding animals.

The SHARK SKIMMER 300 for aquariums up to 300 liters operates on the principle of instant skimming with countercurrent flow. The protein-laden water is drawn to the surface, thereby optimizing the skimmer’s performance. The Model 300 can also be used as a standalone unit for “low-tech” reef aquariums. Surface skimming, protein skimming, and aeration in a single unit, all with an extremely low power consumption of 5 W.

Both models are extremely quiet, compact, powerful, and easy to disassemble and maintain. Two magnetic mounts are included for attachment to glass up to 15 mm thick. The external model is also waterproof, allowing it to be submerged in a filter compartment.
Key features for both skimmers are:

MicraPlus / Syncra Silent 1.0 pumps with self-cleaning impellers. Their air-water mixture has been specially optimized to ensure quiet, long-lasting, and energy-efficient operation.
