Product description

A healthy microbiology of substrate and rock is the basis of every successful saltwater aquarium. Tropic Marin® EcoStart Reef ensures optimum bacterial colonization of substrate and stones, as well as starting nitrification. The carefully-selected mixture of living, useful bacteria changes the reef fish tank into a stable and biologically-functioning ecosystem in a short time and quickly forms a biofilm in the substrate and reef rock. With Tropic Marin® EcoStart Reef, you shorten the start-up phase of your fish tank and can quickly start to put in the first inhabitants. A vital substrate and reef rock that is colonized by useful bacteria from the start is the best prerequisite for a stable and long-lasting fish tank.

Water, calcareous red algae, salts of organic acids, biopolymers, phosphate, trace elements, bacteria


Application & Dosage

Shake the bottle well before use to suspend the contents evenly. Add 15 ml Tropic Marin® EcoStart Reef per 2 l fish tank water or synthetic saltwater. Distribute this preparation over the substrate or rock in a suitable tank (2 l = approx. 4 kg) and allow it to rest for 24 hours. The surface to be treated should be covered completely by the prepared water. The substrate or reef rock is then ready for use in the fish tank. To ensure that the bacteria multiply, the tank must not be sealed air-tight and should best be stored at approx. 25-28 °C (77-82 °F).

Note: Use of the product may be accompanied by bacterial bloom, which confirms activation of the rock.

Tropic Marin® EcoStart Reef can also be used in filled tanks. In this case, we recommend a dosage of 15 ml per 100 l fish tank water.
