Hardening Granules ROWAlith

ROWA®lith is a material of natural origin.

ROWA-lith consists of 99.1% calcium carbonate (CaCO3) and is extracted from the Jurassic and Devon deposits.

ROWA®lith is: - a material ideal for hardening filters - an ideal growth surface for microorganisms in the biological filter - excellently suited as a white soil base, which also increases the pH stability and ensures sufficient hardness

ROWA®lith in the hardening filter:

Provides in the hardening filter of a reverse osmosis plant

ROWA®lith ensures that calcium and carbonate hardness are supplied to the pure water. It will reach about 2-4 ° dH (KH and GH). If higher degrees of hardness are required, CO2 must be added. Use ROWA®lith with a grain size of 2-3 mm.

ROWA®lith as substrate:

ROWA®lith can be used very well in the marine aquarium and in the freshwater aquarium where higher carbonate hardness is required (Lake Malawi and Lake Tanganyika). Because the water is additionally buffered (pH stability) and supplied with total and carbonate hardness. By adding CO2, even higher degrees of hardness are achieved. As a substrate, the grain size 9-15 mm is ideal.

ROWA®lith as filter material (in the biofilter):

As a filter material, ROWA®lith buffers very well the acid produced by microorganisms and thus forms an ideal growth medium for the important bacteria (for example nitrifying bacteria). In the soft-water aquarium you dose ROWA®lith (granulation 9-15 mm) tablespoon-wise, at higher degrees of hardness (hard water or saltwater aquarium) you dose more. If the hardness increases too high, simply remove part of the ROWA®lith from the filter.
