The compact dimensions allow for easy placement of the reactor above the filter sump or above the aquarium. The reactor chamber holds 5 L of media and, thanks to its high usable volume, is also suitable for effective nutrient reduction in larger tanks up to 1500 L.

The aerated BIO-ACTIF REACTOR 5000 bioreactor from Tropic Marin® circulates water through the media without channel formation, thereby ensuring optimal oxygen availability for the microbiology of the filter media. At the same time, anaerobic conditions are prevented and nutrients are broken down as quickly as possible.

In addition to Tropic Marin® NP-BACTO-TRICKS, zeolites or inert packing media can also be used as reactor materials in the BIO-ACTIF REACTOR 5000.

We recommend operating the Tropic Marin® BIO-ACTIF REACTOR 5000 with a flow rate of approx. 1500 l/h (e.g., with a SICCE Synchra Silent 1.5).
