Dosage:
PO4 value in the aquarium below 0.1mg - max. 50ml NPO Biopellets per 100L.
PO4 value in the aquarium above 0,1mg - max. 100ml NPO Biopellets per 100L
The pellets usually dissolve between 6-12 months.


The pellets allow aerobic growth of bacteria that subsequently consume nitrate and phosphate simultaneously. After about 2-4 weeks, nitrate and phosphate levels should drop.

Higher amounts are appropriate for larger or heavily fed aquariums. Biopellets are consumed by bacteria, so additional pellets should be added to maintain a consistent media volume. Typically this is required every 3-6 months to balance the digested pellets.

We also recommend placing the pellet reactor outlet upstream of a protein skimmer pump. Since bacteria are easily removed by protein skimming, this bacterial biomass serves as an efficient means of nutrient export. Pellets should never be used without adequate water movement as this can result in low oxygen and pH levels, especially during the night. Adequate water movement will provide gentle tumbling of the pellets in the reactor.

In aquariums with high phosphate or nitrate levels, the water may become cloudy for a short time. This is a bacterial bloom, which is usually harmless and usually resolves itself within a few days. Use a maximum of 50ml of NPO Biopellets per 100L of total water volume. Please calculate the total water volume without live rock and sand. aqua biotica will not be responsible for any loss of animals or other damage caused by misuse of this product.
