Natural clinoptilolite for ammonium and phosphate binding
Natural filter medium based on clinoptilolite, which adsorbs mainly ammonium (NH4) before it is oxidized in the nitrification chain to nitrite and nitrate. Thus, the nitrate content in the aquarium system can be lowered easily and safely. In addition, iron and manganese inclusions in zeolith purum are potentially capable of binding phosphate in the long term. The zeolite surface is constantly abraded by water flow, producing colloidal zeolite fractions that are bound with ammonium and phosphate and can accumulate other turbidity and waste materials. The attrition can be effectively skimmed off, finally exporting ammonium and phosphate from the system.

zeolith purum is also available for standard processes in grain sizes 8 - 16 mm and 5 - 8 mm.
