Osmolator® 3
Straightforward and safe water level controller for fresh and sea water with optical control sensor and independent thermal safety sensor. A constant water level keeps the salt concentration constant in seawater aquariums. Incl. Turbelle® High Jet 5030 dosing pump with integrated dry running and blockage protection, magnet holder, 12V DC power supply unit, tube and tube holder. Suitable for placement in cabinet filter systems or on the edge of the aquarium. The sensor holds on glass panes up to 15 mm (0.59”) and the tube holder up to 22 mm (0.87”).

Differences between Nano and Standard Osmolator:
Recommended tank size
- Osmolator 3 Nano (3151): Up to approx. 250 liters (≈ 66 US gal.).
- Osmolator 3 Standard (3154): For larger tanks (no fixed upper limit, significantly more robust for medium to large systems).
Sensors
- Nano: Only one optical sensor.
- Standard: Optical sensor + separate thermal/second optical safety sensor (for double overflow protection).
Safety shutdown in case of malfunction
- Nano: Very short timer shutdown (approx. 77 or 154 seconds, adjustable; then lockout until power cycle – pumps only a small amount of water before stopping).
- Standard: Longer timer (approx. 10 minutes) + second sensor as additional protection.
Pump
- Nano: Low-voltage dosing pump (slower, adapted to small tanks, quieter in normal operation, but sometimes perceived as louder).
- Standard: Turbelle High Jet 5030 (more powerful, higher delivery rate, up to approx. 6.2 m delivery height in boost mode, more robust and quieter at high power).
Flow rate / speed
- Nano: Lower (approx. 160 l/h max., slower refill process).
- Standard: Significantly higher (up to 180 l/h in boost mode, faster and suitable for greater evaporation).
Magnetic holder / glass thickness
- Nano: Up to 12 mm glass thickness.
- Standard: Up to 15 mm glass thickness (stronger magnets).
Plug / cable / workmanship
Nano: Simpler plugs (e.g., jack-like for the pump, cheaper cables, partly PVC).
Standard: Higher-quality, waterproof professional plugs (e.g., 3-pin Japanese plugs, polyurethane cables, made for wet locations).
Price
- Nano: More affordable (lower-priced Nano version).
- Standard: More expensive (premium version with more features).
Target group
- Nano: Nano and small tanks, price-conscious users, systems up to ~200–250 liters.
- Standard: Medium to large systems where maximum safety and durability are desired.
