The NEWA Mirror Hang On UVC 7 W is a compact, high-performance UV-C filter for saltwater and freshwater aquariums. Thanks to the built-in pump and the adjustable telescoping intake tube, the unit is ready for immediate use and does not require a separate external pump. Simply hang it on the edge of the tank, adjust the flow rate, and UV-C treatment can begin.
The distinctive feature of the NEWA Mirror UVC series is its innovative mirror reflector system. Two mirror-polished aluminum reflectors bounce the UV-C radiation back multiple times within the irradiation chamber, thereby increasing the effective radiation output. This ensures that the lamp’s power is utilized particularly efficiently.
The water is guided through a quartz tube with high UV-C transmittance, while the UV-C lamp remains outside of direct contact with the water. As a result, the water largely avoids contact with plastic parts exposed to intense UV-C radiation—a design advantage, especially for use in saltwater aquariums.
The targeted UV-C irradiation helps reduce suspended algae, bacteria, and other microorganisms in the water—without the need for any additional chemicals. The integrated flow regulator allows you to adjust the water’s contact time with the UV-C radiation to suit your specific application.
Well-thought-out design for easy maintenance
The NEWA Mirror Hang On UVC is designed from the ground up for simple and safe operation. The lamp is replaced using an automatic safety switch that turns off the UV-C lamp when the housing is opened. Convenient lever latches allow for quick opening of the irradiation chamber.
An LED indicator light shows the operating status of the UV-C lamp, so you can see at a glance whether the lamp is functioning properly.
Thanks to its integrated pump, the NEWA Mirror Hang On UVC operates completely independently of the existing filter or recirculation system. This makes it particularly suitable for open aquariums where additional piping is not desired.
