The Aqua Biotica surface guard for EcoTech VorTech MP10 mQD effectively prevents an air vortex from being drawn in, allowing the pump to be placed further from the surface.

The pumps should be operated at a maximum of 45% to prevent the pump from rotating with the surface guard. Alternatively, an “anti-slip” material must be placed between the surface guard and the disk so that the pump performance can be set higher and the pump still remains in position.
