Optimum substrate
The substrate is an important part of the aquarium set-up, as many animals dig and search for food in the substrate. Plants also need to find a secure hold in the substrate and absorb food from the soil with their roots. Digging fish absolutely need a substrate that is not sharp-edged. Bottom heating is only recommended for medium to coarse substrate, as very fine substrate does not allow the water to circulate properly.

Application
Rinse the substrate under tap water to remove abrasion caused by transport. Place the substrate on the culture medium (JBL AquaBasis) to promote plant growth (approx. 6-8 cm for strong plant roots).

• Fine, uncoloured sandy soil: Substrate for freshwater and saltwater aquariums and aqua-terrariums
• Vital plant growth: Prevents mulm and other waste from seeping in thanks to fine grain size and dense storage
• Prevents damage to mucous membranes: Fine, rounded natural sand is gentle on the sensitive barbels of bottom-dwelling fish. Ideal for bottom-dwelling fish such as armoured catfish and loaches
• Ideal for fish, invertebrates and plants: No release of unwanted pollutants into the water.
• Scope of delivery: 1 bag of Sansibar Grey. Grain size 0.2-0.6 mm. Rather unsuitable for underfloor heating cables
