1.) Dosage instructions
Every evening the photosynthesis of algae is stopped and you can fight the algae better
30ml phycoEx to 500 liters of aquarium water Please do not overdose.
Calculate a relative exact liter number of the Tank and use it to calculate the amount
Repeat every 2nd day until successful
A general duration of treatment can not be specified. This varies, depending on the infestation,
between a few days and several weeks. (Usual: algae ~ 2 weeks, dinoflagellates ~ 4 weeks)
2.) Instructions for use
Reduce the light interval to a maximum of 6 hours / day (HQI or daylight / neon tubes) Blue light phase may be longer
DO NOT use in aquariums without skimmer and adjust skimmer well
No water changes during treatment
No addition of trace elements during treatment
No OZON, UV or charcoal during treatment
No adsorbers during treatment (eg: Contraphos, Rowaphos, Silicarbon ..)
3.) Application areas
phycoEx is generally active against ALL algae. String algae and related algae Spherical algae, calcareous algae (Halimeda), gold algae
Higher algae such as e.g. Caulerpas, Bryopsis (longer-term use is required here) Dinoflagellates ("plague algae", "rust-colored / brown plague")
For dinoflagellates, a microscopic examination with a clearly negative result is recommended before treatment is discontinued.
In case of uncertainty, it is better to dosed for a few more days.
phycoEx does not work against smear algae (eg Cyanos), because it is not algae but bacteria. In the case of infestation, a strategy tailored to the individual case needs to be developed.
4.) Known injuries / side effects
Only minor side effects are observed when following the dosing instructions. No damage to fish or invertebrate stocking, even sensitive stony corals (such as: Acropora) remain unaffected.
Please note that in the treatment of higher algae a longer treatment time is needed. The treatment - especially of higher algae - is always at your own risk.
The following side effects are known:
Slight reduction of the redox potential
In case of prolonged use: Damage to the general condition of sea urchins
In the case of sludge filter basins, the Caulerpas necessary for operation can be damaged.
Recommendation: Check Caulerpas more frequently and remove or remove any vitreous areas (stored substances can be released into the tank when dying)
