The SPS system is designed for reef aquariums with a high proportion of small polyp (SPS) stony corals in the total coral population, if you as a keeper attach great importance to shiny metallic SPS colours with a light and pastel background.
The composition and concentration of the organic active ingredients in SPS #1 has been specially adapted and optimised to supply pastel-bright, metallic SPS corals. The focus is on the rapid absorption and processing of micronutrients by the cultivated corals without creating too much competition with bacteria and microbes.
The active ingredients used work primarily in the energy metabolism of small polyp stony corals. This means that the corals have sufficient metabolic energy available, even in a radiation-intensive light environment, to be able to draw on sufficiently high energy reserves for tissue and skeletal growth (calcification) even in the presence of radiation stress.
At the same time, the corals have access to important organic raw materials for the synthesis of coloured chromoproteins. The main focus of the SPS system is therefore on maintaining the long-term health and growth of SPS corals in a radiation-intensive light environment while at the same time achieving optimum colour expression.
The positive effect on general nutrient degradation and microbial organism and species diversity is also pronounced in the SPS system and offers all the ecological advantages that characterise the SANGOKAI nutrient supply. However, as a follow-up system, the SPS system has a higher proportion of active ingredients that have been specifically selected for the corals.
Before using the SPS system, the BASIS system should be established for at least six months in order to acclimatise the aquarium to the extensive organic nutrient supply and to optimally develop all aquarium biological processes.
Concentrate, therefore very economical. Dosage: 0.25 - 0.5 mL per 100 litres daily.
