Iodine additive concentrate for coral reef aquariums

aqua biotica iodine element is an ideal source of elemental iodine. Iodine has a polyp-expanding effect on soft corals and large polyp stony corals (LPS). Iodine has special coloring power in disk and crustose anemones and small polyp stony corals (SPS).
Iodine is available to corals and marine algae primarily in two forms: as elemental iodine (I-) and

as iodide (IO2-). At high redox potentials, iodine is very rapidly oxidized to iodide, and also
iodide is not stable for long in seawater. A constant re-dosing is necessary.

iodine element contains elemental iodine and thus provides the aquarium with the ideal iodine form, but is also effective in the second oxidation stage when converted to iodide.
Iodine reaches its highest oxidation as iodate (IO3-), which is poorly usable by most organisms. To counteract an accumulation of iodate in the aquarium, a regular water change of approx. 5% per week is recommended.
Iodine helps in the metabolism of corals and algae in various physiological processes and takes over regulatory functions in the area of hormone and vitamin balance.
Especially at high water temperatures in combination with radiation stress, iodine supplementation can prevent the risk of coral bleaching by reducing photooxidative stress in coral tissue.

Dosage recommendation: Swirl bottle gently before use.

Per 100 L aquarium water 2 drops per day.

Storage and safety: Store in a dark place at room temperature. Keep away from children. Not suitable for consumption or for the preparation of pet food. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not swallow.

Available in 50 mL blue glass bottle with pipette closure and as 100 mL refill (resealable).
