– Here’s a tip based on our own experience:
- Use exactly 2.0 mL of test water (2.05 grams)
Use the: AutoAqua Smart Stir Water Test Stirrer (AA-SS100)
– The test is thoroughly mixed without any unmixed water remaining in the test tube due to manual shaking
– It is mixed very vigorously, consistently every time
- This leaves one hand free
- The white background makes it very easy to see the color change
– The control LED on the water stirrer has exactly the same shade of blue that the test must have when it has fully reacted. This allows you to better determine by comparison whether the blue of the test water still has a violet tint or is already a clear blue, like the LED
– Once the test has finished reacting, wait one minute; if the test remains a clear blue, add ONE drop of seawater and shake briefly. If the test turns toward violet, everything is fine and you can use the result. If you need a SECOND drop, that’s still okay. If you need three or more drops, you should repeat the test.
