Measure instead of guess:
Get a regular overview if all important water values of your marine aquarium are okay or if there is a need for action to correct values that are developing in the wrong direction. When problems arise (sick fish, invertebrates not growing, algae problems) water analyses are actually the only way to get to the bottom of the causes! As soon as you have found the cause with the help of the tests, you can eliminate it.
The following tests are included in the test set:
pH test: acidity of the water from 7.4 to 9.0
KH test: pH stability of the water (carbonate hardness)
PO4 test: determination of the phosphate content (cause of algae and plant nutrient)
NH4 / NH3 test: indication of non-toxic ammonium, determination of toxic ammonia via table
NO2 test: determination of the nitrogen compound nitrite, which is toxic to fish
NO3 test: determination of nitrate content (cause of algae)
The following tests are available in addition
pH test: acidity of water from 3.0 to 10
pH test: acidity of the water from 6.0 to 7.6
O2 test: determination of the oxygen content
Cu-Test: Deadly heavy metal for invertebrates. Also important for setting the therapeutic dose of medicines
SiO2-Test: Determination of silicates (silicic acid) as cause of diatoms
Ca-Test: Determination of calcium content in marine aquariums. Should be between 400 and 440 mg/l for healthy coral growth.
Mg-Ca test: Determination of magnesium and calcium content in marine aquariums. The magnesium content should be between 1200 and 1600 mg/l. When performing the test, the Mg content is tested first and then the Ca content. Then the value of the Ca content is subtracted from the Mg content and this is the real Mg content of the water.
