Healthy pond environment
The correct water values in the garden pond depend on the fish stocking, the filtration and the existing plants. Even if the water looks clear, it can be polluted. With poor values, diseases or algae can form in the pond. For a healthy pond environment, regular control and adjustment of the water values is important. With the JBL ProAquaTest Set Koi you can determine the most important water values in your koi or garden pond.
Why test?
In the pond, phosphate enters the water mainly through organic substances (leaves, dying algae), the digestive processes of the fish and from food remains. Under unfavorable conditions, phosphate levels can be reached that are sometimes 100 times or more above the natural values. The inevitable consequence is an explosion of undesirable algae.
JBL offers another phosphate test which also indicates low phosphate loads in the water. The JBL Phosphate Test sensitive indicates phosphate levels as low as 0.02 mg/l and ranges up to 1.8 mg/l in 9 gradations. The JBL Phosphate Test PO4 Koi starts at 0.1 and goes up to 10 mg/l in 9 steps.
If the JBL Phosphate Test sensitive shows the highest value with the color dark blue (1.8 mg/l) it is not clear whether it is 1.8 mg/l or more and if more, how much more. This is where the JBL Phosphate Test Koi comes in, which can also display values up to 10.0 mg/l.
